Hi my name is Billy Beaver, when you are 6 you can join the Beavers, and it doesn't matter if you're a Boy or girl, because at 1st Great Eccleston they take both. When do we meet? give me chance, its on Monday night from 6.30 to 7.45, and that's late for me because I'm only little.
Yes I know 'what do we do,' well our Motto is Be Prepared but we also say Fun and Friends and that's what we do, have fun and make friends. Yes I know what's a Motto, My mum says its just a few words used to tell people about you, There's this other thing called a promise that we all have to say when we join. I know someone who thinks its daft but he's not a Beaver, we are like a big family so its good to promise to do things to help each other, I had to practise saying mine to remember it. I promise to do my best, to be kind and helpful and love god. its not daft is it to want to do your best, and be kind and all that? "no."
We wear a turquoise sweatshirt and a neckerchief scarf thing, the same as the Scouts and Cubs with a woggle to hold it together. All the Beavers together are called a 'Colonies' and we split up into small groups called Lodges.
We do allsorts of things in what are called Program Zones, theirs five but all I know is its loads of fun doing them. We learn all about making things, and having fun, doing games, and learning about other people, and what they do, and haw everyone should be friends, and share things, and loads of stuff like that, but the best bit is doing things with all the other Beavers. My mum says when I am 8 I can join the Cubs, and they go camping.
